Wanderhearts & wellbeing

Wanderhearts is a game about walking with companions who care that you showed up. Games that touch health carry real responsibility, so here is — plainly — how we designed the guilt out of a companion fitness game.

Companions dim. They never blame.

When you rest, your companions don't get angry, scold you, or punish you. They dim a little, and they wait. When you come back, they celebrate — that's the whole emotional loop. There is no shame dialogue anywhere in the game, and there never will be.

Rest days are part of being healthy

"Rest days are part of being healthy." — Momo (she says it firmly, for a bunny)

Rest is canon, not failure. Streaks come with Streak Shields that quietly absorb a missed day, and the daily earning cap means there is never a reason to grind steps late into the night — once you've had a good day of movement, the game is done asking.

No leaderboards, no comparison

Nobody in Wanderhearts can rank you. There are friendly weekly step duels you can choose to share with a friend, but there is no global leaderboard, no percentile, no "you walked less than 80% of players". In our world's words: light is not a competition.

Notifications are yours to control

One optional evening check-in, off-by-default extras, and every reminder individually toggleable. Your phone should not nag you on our behalf.

Movement, not measurement

We read one thing: steps. No calories, no weight, no heart rate, no body metrics. Wanderhearts is not a diet app and will never comment on your body — only on the walk you took.

If walking is hard right now

Injury, illness, disability, or a rough season — companions wait, and your collection never decays. Nothing you've earned is ever taken away for resting. If the game ever makes you feel worse instead of better, that's a bug in our design: tell us at hello@wanderhearts.app.
